Along with other regular activities in the field of protection, presentation and recognition of the movable cultural heritage, National Museum of Montenegro is also for many years successfully engaged in publishing activities.

In addition to a series of memorable, mainly monographic publications, which will be mentioned below, our institution has in recent years launched a new series of magazine "Glasnik", intended for studies, articles and contributions from history, ethnology, art history, conservation and other areas of scientific and cultural activities.

Glasnik No V for 2009  will be available in  electronic form during the year.

in 2007came from the press "Guide to the museums of Montenegro" (authors Anđe Kapičić and Velimir Vujačić) in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro and the Ventian office of the regional UNESCO Bureau for Science and Culture.

It is a popular publication intended for the general clientele.

The volume has 224 pages and a large number of color illustrations. It is available on the Montenegrin, English and Italian language through the sales office of the National Museum of Montenegro.

The first book of edition "Legacy" (author Milan Jovićević) entitled "Montenegro state and dynastic emblems", represents one of the most important museum publications. The monograph covers chronologically all known varieties of coats of arms, flags and other Montenegrin national and dynastic insignia from the time of mediaeval dynasty Balsic to dynasty Petrovic.

.The second book of the edition "Legacy" (authors: Anđe Kapičić and Velimir Vujačić), entitled "Foreign decorations in Montenegro" affirms the museum collection of foreign decorations, whose historical value is priceless. Special place in this collection have the highest-ranking foreign decorations presented to the sovereign of Montenegro Nikola I Petrovic Njegos and other prominent personalities of the ruling House of Petrović - Njegoš. The medals and orders were made of precious metals and decorated with precious stones in the most famous jewelry shops.

The third book of the edition "Legacy" (by Tatjana Jovic and Milan Jovićević) entitled "The Montenegrin army-organization and uniforms," is an interesting study, which treats the military reforms in Montenegro from the time of Bishop Petar II Petrovic Njegos to 1914.

The book is richly illustrated with original photographs and digital simulations.

The Album "Montenegro in the eye of Princess Ksenija" (author Anđe Kapičić) contains a selection of photographs recorded at the beginning of the twentieth century by Princess Ksenija Petrovic Njegos.

Fotos, whose originals are now in the fund of  King Nichola's Museum, have a high documentary value.

The book is a volume of 168 pages.The text is printed on the Montenegrin, Italian and English.

The Monograph "Palace of King Nikola" done by a group of authors (Milan Jovićević, Tatjana Jovic and Anđe Kapičić) is dedicated to collections and other facilities that now make up the core of the oldest units in the National Museum of Montenegro.

Edition "The court Album" was launched in late 80-ies of XX century and includes more books, of which are still available  the "Jubilee 1910" (50-anniversary of the reign King Nicholas 1860-1910, authoress Anđe Kapičić) and "End of the Montenegrin kingdom" By Jakov Mraljević.

Catalog "From tread to textile" has been published on the occasion of the opening of the permanent settings of the Ethnographic Museum of Montenegro, relating to the national handicraft and traditional techniques and technologies in the production of textiles.

.In cooperation with the Center of Contemporary Art in Podgorica during 2008 has gone out of print monograph entitled "Individual art poetics" (authoress Ljiljana Zekovic) The monograph is dedicated to the modern Montenegrin art scene and a number of artists, mostly from the younger generation.
