Uniforms
and senior Montenegrin army ranks insignia

The
temporary exhibition entitled "Uniforms and Senior Ranks Insignia of the
Montenegrin Army" (authors: Tatjana Jović, Aleksandar
Berkuljan and Peter Čuković), located in the ground floor of
Biljarda Palace (Njegos's Museum), is one of the most complex projects
of historical character, done by the National Museum of Montenegro
during the last period.

The
exhibition consist
of a large number of original objects, documents, photographs and
projections, explaining the whole process of evolution
of Montenegrin military formations and uniforms starting from 1831 and
the first reform of the kind of Peter II Petrovic
Njegos,
to the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Montenegro and the factual
termination of the Montenegrin state institutions in 1916.

In
the first segment of the exhibition are shown variations of the original
uniforms of Gvardija and Perjaniks (first Montenegrin official military and
police troops), senior military emblems introduced by Prince Danilo, and
the first
officer's uniform from the time of Prince (King) Nicholas.

the second room are exhibited the
official military uniforms
introduced in 1896.
along
with the
former versions of army ranks, flags and original weapons.

In
addition to the original setting is a number of reproductions and
projections, together with the digital reconstructions of the missing material on which there are historical sources.
