Exhibition of old photo albums, photographs and rare optical instruments

 .

One of the temporary exhibitions planed for the period 2009 - 2010 was organized in the Atelier "Dado" on the topic of old photo albums and optical devices used by the members of the royal family Petrovic - Njegoš (Authors: Tatjana Jović, Aleksandar Berkuljan).

The albums are an important source of information on historical events from the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century, persons, region and urban life, but also in terms of aesthetics are representing the extraordinary examples of forgotten skills and artistic ornamentation.

Beside the albums were exposed also photographic cameras used by Montenegrin princesses, old stereoscopic instruments and "kinora", the mechanical predecessor of modern video player.

    The setting was completed with enlarged panoramic photos, projections and other multimedia content.

Exhibition "Long the pathway of education in Montenegro" 

.

The exhibition entitled "Long the pathway of education in Montenegro" was held in September 2009 in Biljarda Palace (authoress: Marija Martinović and Vesna Kalezić, techical presentation A. Berkuljan). It was dedicated to the 140th Jubilee from the foundation of two important secondary schools in Montenegro: School of Theology and Pedagogy and the Institute for Girls supported by Russian Emperess Maria Feodorovna.

The exhibition included a number of original and reproduced documents from the state and church archives and private collections, as well as the old school books and other evidence of the efforts which were invested by prominent individuals and the State of Montenegro in the development of the schools.

.

     

.

The original embroidery and other handicrafts done by the ladies from the Girls Institute were also exhibited, and the impression was completed with the reconstruction of the original environment, for which were used three-dimensional objects from the fund of king Nikola's Museum.

The story was complemented by multimedia content.

Uniforms and senior Montenegrin army ranks insignia

 

 

The temporary exhibition entitled "Uniforms and Senior Ranks Insignia of the Montenegrin Army" (authors: Tatjana Jović, Aleksandar Berkuljan and Petar Ćuković), located in the ground floor of Biljarda Palace (Njegoš's Museum), is one of the most complex projects of historical character, done by the National Museum of Montenegro during the last period.

The exhibition consist of a large number of original objects, documents, photographs and projections, explaining  the whole process  of  evolution of Montenegrin military formations and uniforms starting from 1831 and the first reform of the kind of Peter II Petrovic Njegos, to the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Montenegro and the factual termination of the Montenegrin state institutions in 1916.

In the first segment of the exhibition are shown variations of the original uniforms of Gvardija and Perjaniks (first Montenegrin official military and police troops), senior military emblems introduced by Prince Danilo, and the first officer's uniform from the time of Prince (King) Nicholas.

In the second room are exhibited the official military uniforms introduced in 1896. along with the former versions of army ranks, flags and original weapons.

.

       

.

In addition to the original setting is a number of reproductions and projections, together with the digital reconstructions of the missing material on which there are historical sources.
